About

Federico G. Padua is a Ph.D. student at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz and holds a Bachelor degree in Physics from the University of Catania and a Master degree in Physics from the University of Pisa. In 2007 he won the 2nd prize in the 10th Rudolf Ortvay International Problem Solving Competition in Physics. He was a summer student intern at Fermilab during 2009 and later on did his Master thesis in the context of a physics experiment conducted at SLAC. During 2012 and 2013 he was a research assistant at the Paderborn Center for Parallel Computing PC2. The main areas of interest in computer science are storage systems, file systems, HPC and algorithms.
